In 19 January 1980, when the founder died, there were only five members’ Priests and 40 temporary member seminarians. At the present in Africa Province there are three Bishops, 119 Priests and two Deacons. The Apostolic Life Community of Priests in the Opus Spiritus Sancti was officially erected by the Bishop of Moshi Rt. Rev. Isaac Amani on 1st August 2012 as a Society of Diocesan Right. As a society of Apostolic Life of Diocesan right, the Society enjoys a juridical personality and autonomy of life in accordance with Canon 741 and 586, respectively. The society remains subject to the authority of the diocesan Bishop in all those matters prescribed in the Code of Canon Law for Societies of Apostolic life of Diocesan right.
