Various names have been considered fitting for the new Priests Community in the course of time. First the Founder gave the name “Brothers Community in the Opus Spiritus Sancti “with reference to Brotherhood in the New testament. Secondly, the Founder gave another name instead of the first one in order to indicate the Clerical status and Vocation of the foundation as “Oratory of Mission Priests.” Thirdly, after consultation of Canon Lawyers and other Church experts (the Congregation for Religious and Secular Institute in Rome), the name Missionary Priests Community” was found more applicable. Finally, after the promulgation of the New Code of Canon Law in 1983, the Community found itself in the classification of ‘’Societies of Apostolic Life” from which the Community has its official title now as THE  APOSTOLIC LIFE COMMUNITY OF PRIESTS IN THE OPUS SPIRITUS SANCTI” (ALCP/OSS).
